A 62-year old woman diagnosed with transitional cell carcinoma underwent a laparoscopic removal of her right kidney and ureter. However, the urologist mistakenly removed her left ureter instead of her right. Post-surgery, the patient began experiencing severe abdominal bloating causing her to be readmitted when the error was discovered. As a result, she underwent another surgery to fix the error and currently suffers from a variety of complications. Dan Hodes with Hodes Milman represented the plaintiff, obtaining a $500,000 settlement on her behalf.
