Nearly quarter of a million Honda vehicles recalled due to flaw in driver's-side airbag
Honda announced that it is voluntarily recalling more than 748,000 SUVs and minivans due to a missing rivet that may cause the driver's-side airbag to deploy improperly, potentially injuring the driver or passengers.
According to Chris Martin, a spokesperson for Honda, owners will be notified via mail in February if they own a 2011 to 2013 Odyssey minivan or a 2009 to 2013 Pilot SUV. Dealers will inspect the vehicles and will replace the airbag module of those found to be missing a rivet. The replacement process could take up to two days to complete.
While no injuries have been associated with this recall, Honda also recalled more than 800,000 vehicles in December, when a faulty ignition lock led to several reports of Odysseys and Pilots rolling away and injuring owners.
