LA Times Studios Honors Hodes Milman’s Daniel Hodes as a 2026 Consumer Attorney Visionary

Hodes Milman announced that Business by LA Times Studios has recognized founding and managing partner Daniel M. Hodes in its 2026 Consumer Attorney Visionaries feature. The recognition appears in the publication’s October edition, which spotlights attorneys shaping the legal profession across Southern California.

Mr. Hodes has tried medical malpractice cases for 44 years. After six years defending doctors and hospitals, he began representing plaintiffs in 1987. Today, he represents patients and families in cases involving missed diagnoses, cancer misdiagnosis, hospital negligence, surgical errors, birth injuries and wrongful death.

Throughout his career, he has secured more than 50 verdicts, arbitration awards and settlements exceeding $1 million each. His results include a $10.96 million wrongful death verdict against an HMO following the death of a wife and mother. At the time, that result set an Orange County record for a medical malpractice wrongful death jury verdict.

“I’ve been doing this a long time, and helping a family get answers still means a great deal to me,” said Mr. Hodes. “I’m lucky to work with people who care as much about our clients as I do. I appreciate LA Times Studios recognizing our work.”

Mr. Hodes shares his experience through lectures at trial lawyer conferences and his work on the faculty of the College of Trial Advocacy. He previously served as president of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association.

In October, Hodes Milman launched The Missed Diagnosis Project: California, a statewide initiative addressing breast cancer misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis. The project examines breakdowns in medical care and helps patients understand questions they can ask about imaging results and follow-up care.
