Patients of Arizona-based Ear & Sinus Center of the Southwest at risk due to poor sterilization of instruments

As reported in Mohave Valley Daily News, Bullhead City and Lawdragon, a woman who underwent a routine endoscopy procedure at Ear & Sinus Center of the Southwest in January 2012 received a letter in November 2012 stating that the administering physician, Dr. Terrance Kwiatkowski, had not properly sterilized the endoscope prior to her procedure, potentially exposing her to infectious diseases including hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV. Subsequent testing indicated that she has contracted hepatitis C, a serious illness that can lead to liver failure or even death.

If you or a loved one has been treated by Dr. Terrance Kwiatkowski, M.D. or received treatment at the Ear & Sinus Center of the Southwest in Bullhead City, Arizona, a subsidiary of Bullhead City Clinic Corp. (BCCC) and Community Health Systems, Inc. (CHS), you may be at risk for a life-threatening illness.

Attorney Robert A. Mosier at Hodes Milman is representing the plaintiff, filing a complaint against the clinic, its parent corporations and Dr. Kwiatkowski. Other patients of the Ear & Sinus Center of the Southwest who may have been exposed to disease as a result of this negligence are encouraged to contact the team at Hodes Milman at rmosier@verdictvictory.com or (602) 277-5212 to learn more about the legal options available to them.
