Of Counsel

Gregory Patton is Of Counsel at Hodes Milman and has spent more than 30 years representing people whose lives have been changed by catastrophic injuries, medical negligence, wrongful death, sexual assault, and other serious acts of negligence. He is licensed to practice law in both California and Arizona and has built a reputation as an accomplished trial lawyer in both states.
Greg began his legal career representing corporations and insurance companies. After two years, he decided his work belonged on the other side of the courtroom, standing with injured people and families instead of defending the institutions they were up against.
That decision shaped the rest of his career. Since then, his practice has focused exclusively on helping people and families pursue accountability in complex, high-stakes cases.
Over the course of his career, Greg has tried more than 50 jury trials and secured numerous multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements. His experience spans a wide range of catastrophic injury cases, including birth injuries, brain injuries, medical malpractice, wrongful death, train and bus accidents, premises liability, negligent security, failure to diagnose cancer, and cases involving sexual assault and child molestation.
A significant part of Greg’s practice over the past three decades has focused on representing children and families affected by obstetrical and hospital negligence. He has handled complex birth injury cases involving serious injuries caused by failures in prenatal care, labor and delivery, and hospital treatment. His work in this area has resulted in some of the largest medical malpractice recoveries in California and Arizona.
Among his many results, Greg obtained what was, at the time, the largest medical malpractice verdict for a brain-injured adult in Orange County—a $17.6 million jury verdict. He also secured an $8 million settlement in one of Arizona's largest birth injury cases.
Greg also works alongside other attorneys as trial counsel and co-counsel in complex litigation throughout California and Arizona. Over the years, he has represented clients in cases involving many of the nation's largest healthcare providers and hospital systems, including Kaiser Permanente, Banner Health, Humana Hospital Systems, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and hospitals throughout California and Arizona.
Greg intentionally limits the number of cases he handles so he can devote significant time and attention to every client and every case.
Greg received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Arizona State University College of Law.
